NAPD Region 6 Lunch Meeting

Report from NAPD Region 6 Summer Meeting
A lunch meeting for members of NAPD Region 6 took place in the beautiful and picturesque village of Adare, at the Dunraven Arms Hotel, on Friday, 12th June.

Ms. Kathryn Corbett, of the Teaching Council, very kindly agreed to attend the meeting to speak to her enthusiastic audience about the benefits of 'Droichead', which is an initiative to support the development of Newly Qualified Teachers (NQT). Kathryn gave an excellent and highly effective oral presentation (without the use of PowerPoint - much to the delight of her PowerPoint weary audience!). Schools which are already involved in Droichead spoke of their experience of the initiative also.
The contribution and commitment of two longstanding NAPD members, who have chosen to retire, were acknowledged at the meeting. The group also received a very comprehensive and relevant report from NAPD executive members, Mary Jones and Padraig Flanagan.
Chairperson of NAPD Region 6, Donncha Ó Treasaigh thanked all of the officers of the sub-committee for their tremendous support and efforts in planning an excellent year of activities, at regional level. In particular, he praised Ms. Elizabeth Cregan, Treasurer, for all of the exemplary work she carried out in preparation of the events that took place during the year.
NAPD Region 6 will meet for its AGM in mid September (date to be advised).
