MailShot to NAPD Region 6 Members

A Chara

I trust you are looking forward to a very well earned break from your extremely busy role.
I wish to thank all members who attended our NAPD Region 6 Meitheal in late February; we had the highest turn-out ever with 41 Principals and Deputy Principals present.

Certainly, the high quality speakers, beautiful hotel and wise words of wisdom from our post-dinner speaker, Kerry Manager, Eamon Fitzmaurice, all lent themselves for making it very worthwhile.

The following resourced were emailed to all those whom registered for Meitheal 2016;
  • NAPD Region 6 Meitheal 2016 Report
  • Copies of presentations from our Speakers, Mr. Alan Mongey (One Hour Classes) and Ms. Máire Ní Bhróithre (Centre for School Leadership).
  • Excel Spreadsheet and screen-grab of a curriculum which operates on a 50/45/40 Minute basis with 7 periods a day (45/40 Minute classes on Fridays).

Please sign up for email notifications regarding events, meetings, support, useful contacts, resources and tweets on our NAPD Region 6 Bloghttp://napdregion6.blogspot.ie/
Once you have registered, you will be notified of changes and announcements.

Our next event will be a late lunch meeting in June 2016, to mark retirements and update members on the latest from NAPD Executive.  With the ‘whirlwind’ of change, lack of clarity and not to mind the general degree of additional work that seems to arrive on school leaders’ desks, such meetings are essential to brief ourselves on the priorities.  The informal collegiality that exists is also very important.

Beannachtaí na Cásca ort agus do chuid cúraim uile.

Assessment for All conference

Dublin - Tuesday 12th April 2016

I would like to invite you to GL Assessment's Assessment for All conference taking place in in The Red Cow, Dublin on Tuesday 12th April 2016

The conference will focus on our key assessments and demonstrate how our Post-Primary Assessment Package exclusive to Ireland, can support teachers in a number of ways. The package combines the Cognitive Abilities Test 4: Irish Edition (CAT4), Progress Test in Maths (PTM), Pupil Attitudes to Self and School (PASS) survey and the New Group Reading Test (NGRT) which can be used in paper or digital format.

Attend our Assessment for All conference to find out how
  • CAT4 can be used to get advance data on pupils
  • PASS can help identify barriers to learning early during a pupil’s first year in Post-Primary
  • NGRT can provide an assessment of a pupil’s reading attainment
  • PTM can assess a pupil’s attainment level in mathematics
Start your day with an optional early bird introduction (or refresher) session on CAT4 and hear how other practitioners are using our products (practitioner speakers to be announced!). Delegates will also receive a €50 GL Assessment voucher at the conference.

The conference is aimed at Post-Primary schools in Ireland and is open to both new and existing customers of GL Assessment.

Date: Tuesday 12 April
Time: 9am - 3.30pm with optional 'early bird' 8.30 - 9.15 am
